Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, William James College
Professional Interests:
My clinical interests include anxiety and stress management, mood disorders, cultivation of self-compassion, identity development and exploration, interpersonal distress, and phase-of-life concerns. I also often encourage the practice of mindfulness and/or use of expressive therapies such as art and writing. Other professional interests include outreach and crisis intervention. More personally, I enjoy live music, my pets (two cats and a tortoise!), time in the woods or on the beach, writing, and yoga.
Therapeutic Approach:
I utilize a person-centered, holistic approach grounded in humanistic and interpersonal theories and place great importance on the therapeutic relationship. Based on a clients’ needs, I will also shift to an integrative, strengths-based approach for an individualized treatment plan that meets those needs while respecting cultural diversity and personal autonomy. I believe that an individual should be an active participant in their treatment as progress is made when the treatment model considers not only a client’s current struggles, but also their unique experiences and perceptions as well as their hopes and goals for the future.
