Therapeutic Approach:
I believe successful therapy begins with a positive therapeutic relationship. Using a trauma-informed approach, I aim to establish trust and security as the primary goal when beginning treatment. I approach therapy with a psychodynamic lens, focusing on meaning making as a mechanism for growth, transference and countertransference, and conscious vs. unconscious motivations. I not only meet clients where they are, but I uncover the significance of where they have been. I encourage insight and interpretation to promote self-awareness and acceptance to recognize and break patterns, with the goal of forging a new path towards well-being. I am also a firm believer in the importance of positive health behaviors due to their impact on mental health and using interoceptive awareness as a mechanism for positive change. When working clinically, I utilize an integrative approach incorporating one’s nutrition, sleep, exercise, and environment as part of treatment, as they all impact psychological and emotional well-being. Finally, I utilize a variety of interventions specific to every individual’s needs including but not limited to: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy.
