Athletics Mental Health Clinician (Psychologist)
Chelsea brings a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity issues and has worked to promote social justice and human dignity by addressing the impact of oppression in mental health. She comes to UConn having completed her doctoral training at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology which led to post-doctorate work and then full-time employment at The Post-Traumatic Stress Center in New Haven, CT.
The newly established position of Athletics Multicultural Mental Health Clinician will report to the Director of Athletics Mental Health and will work with the existing integrated service team to support UConn athletes at Student Health and UConn Athletics. In this role, Chelsea will provide direct service to student-athletes with opportunities to engage with teams and staff for education and consultation. She will also work closely with existing University committees, groups, and staff focused on the delivery of culturally affirming and responsive clinical services with a particular focus on UConn student-athletes identified as Black, Indigenous, and people of color.
