I am from the Midwest; I did medical school in Illinois and residency in Minnesota. I am a big proponent of providing quality primary care and advocacy. During my residency, I saw that my patient’s lives were impacted by MSK issues and so I wanted to pursue sports medicine so that I could better care for them. It is also a great way to get into the community and serve my patients. My mentor during residency graduated from UConn and she introduced me to the program. I chose UConn for the variety of coverage opportunities which includes D1 sports, professional soccer and mass coverage events. During the interview, I was impressed by the amount of ultrasound exposure and after starting fellowship I see that the faculty make use of it regularly in their clinical practice. Lastly, and arguably most importantly, during the interview the faculty liked Schitt’s Creek.
